“Don’t Overthink It — You’re a Good Rider”

Before starting her Himalayan motorcycle expedition, Andrena had plenty of questions running through her mind.

As a solo woman rider travelling to the Himalayas, she was understandably concerned. How difficult would the roads be? Would the high altitude affect her? Could she handle the challenging terrain? What if something went wrong far away from home?

Rather than simply telling her not to worry, Adventure Heist Co-Founder Ankit Ranjan decided to meet Andrena personally.

They went for a ride together near Wales, giving Andrena the opportunity to demonstrate her riding ability and discuss her concerns. It quickly became clear that she could handle the motorcycle confidently. What she needed was not more riding experience — it was simply a little more confidence.

Ankit reassured her:

“Don’t overthink it. You’re a good rider. You’ll have no problem.”

He explained that this wasn’t a self-guided motorcycle tour where she would be left to figure things out alone. The Adventure Heist Himalayan motorcycle expedition is fully guided, with a tour marshal, tour manager, support vehicle, technician, spare parts, first-aid equipment and emergency support travelling with the group.

And most importantly, she would never be alone.

The entire Adventure Heist team would be looking after her throughout the journey.

Landing in India — The Adventure Begins

The day finally arrived.

Andrena landed in Delhi in the middle of the night, excited, nervous and full of anticipation. Waiting at the airport was the Adventure Heist team, ready to welcome her to India and take her safely to the hotel.

She had deliberately arrived in India a couple of days before the expedition. This gave her time to settle into the environment, experience Delhi and fulfil another dream — visiting the mesmerising Taj Mahal.

Because Andrena was travelling as a solo woman rider, Adventure Heist also arranged for a female member of staff to accompany the tour, helping her feel even more comfortable throughout her Himalayan adventure.

The excitement was building.

The Himalayas were getting closer.

From Delhi to Leh — Entering the High Himalayas

Soon it was time to fly to Leh.

At approximately 11,000 feet above sea level, the sudden change in altitude made Andrena feel slightly dizzy after landing. It can happen when travellers move rapidly from low altitude to the high Himalayas.

But there was no reason to panic.

Adventure Heist’s Co-Founder Mr. Vikram, who was travelling from Delhi to Leh himself, was already there to guide her through the acclimatisation process and explain the simple precautions she needed to take.

By the evening, Andrena was feeling perfectly fine.

And then came the moment she had been waiting for.

Standing in Leh, surrounded by enormous Himalayan mountains, she could hardly believe that she was actually there.

The Himalayan motorcycle expedition was about to begin.

Meeting the Himalayan 450

Before setting off, Andrena had the opportunity to familiarise herself with her motorcycle alongside the other riders, with the Adventure Heist technicians available to assist.

Then she jumped onto the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with a huge smile.

This was no ordinary motorcycle adventure.

The expedition was heading towards Umling La at 19,024 feet, widely recognised as the world’s highest motorable road, along with several other Himalayan passes exceeding 17,000 feet.

For a rider who had spent months wondering whether she could handle the Himalayas, this was the moment of truth.

Andrena was ready.

The First Ride — Building Confidence in the Himalayas

The expedition began with visits to a monastery and the local town before the group headed deeper into the mountains.

Andrena handled the Himalayan 450 remarkably well.

She already knew something important: if she encountered a problem, she wasn’t on her own.

Behind the riders was the Adventure Heist support vehicle, carrying essential spare parts and equipment, together with a technician. The tour marshal was leading the group, while the team continuously monitored the riders and the changing road conditions.

That knowledge made a huge difference to her confidence.

Then the real Himalayan adventure began.

Unexpected Roads, Changing Weather and Real Adventure

The Himalayan roads are unpredictable.

One moment you can be riding on smooth tarmac, and the next you may encounter gravel, broken surfaces, loose stones, mud, water crossings or challenging mountain sections.

The weather can change just as quickly.

Andrena experienced exactly what makes motorcycle riding in the Himalayas so special — and sometimes so challenging.

There were moments when she struggled with the roads. But every difficult section became another opportunity to build confidence.

Her riding improved.

Her confidence grew.

And with the Adventure Heist tour marshal constantly monitoring the group and particularly keeping an eye on her progress, Andrena gradually stopped worrying about whether she could do it.

She was doing it.

A Tour Marshal Who Knows When to Slow Down

One of the things that stood out for Andrena was the attention given to rider safety.

The tour marshal constantly assessed the road conditions, traffic, weather and individual riding abilities before determining the pace of the group.

The objective wasn’t simply to reach the destination quickly.

It was to make sure everyone reached the destination safely.

The marshal regularly checked on the riders, ensuring nobody was struggling or falling behind. Andrena received particular attention because the team knew how much this journey meant to her and how many questions she had before starting.

That support helped transform her concerns into confidence.

By the time the expedition progressed deeper into Ladakh, Andrena was no longer the nervous rider who had worried about whether she could manage the Himalayan roads.

She had become a Himalayan motorcycle rider.

The combination of breathtaking landscapes, challenging roads, high-altitude passes and the freedom of riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan through Ladakh created an experience she will never forget.

And when she reflected on the journey, one thing stood out above everything else:
