Day 1Arrival in Delhi

Your adventure begins as you arrive in Delhi, the bustling capital of India. After you disembark from your flight, the city’s vibrant atmosphere welcomes you. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the opportunity to explore some of Delhi’s iconic landmarks. Visit India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to Indian soldiers, or the towering Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage site that stands as a testament to the city’s rich history. If time permits, dive into the vibrant markets of Chandni Chowk, where the sights, sounds, and smells of spices and street food create a sensory feast.

Spend your evening soaking in the energy of the city, perhaps enjoying a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, savouring North Indian delicacies like butter chicken, naan, and biryani.

Overnight stay in Delhi. Rest well at your hotel, as you’ll have an early start to your flight to Leh the next day.

 

Day 2Delhi to Manali via Chandigarh

After a hearty breakfast, your adventure begins early in the morning in Delhi, where you board a flight to Chandigarh. As the plane ascends, you leave behind the hustle and bustle of Delhi, and in just a short time, you touch down in Chandigarh. The fresh morning air and the well-planned greenery of Chandigarh provide a pleasant contrast to the sprawling metropolis you’ve just left.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and set off on a scenic road journey to Manali. The drive, which covers around 300 kilometres, takes you through the winding roads and picturesque landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. As you ascend, the plains give way to lush valleys, and the cool mountain breeze begins to filter through the car windows.

The route meanders along the Beas River, with the mighty river guiding your way to the hills. As you approach Manali, nestled at 2,050 metres in the Beas River Valley, the towering pine trees and the snow-capped peaks in the distance welcome you. You can feel the shift in the air—the crispness, the freshness that can only be found in the mountains.

Upon arrival in Manali, you check into your cosy hotel, where you can unwind after the day’s travel. The evening is yours to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere. Perhaps you take a leisurely stroll around the hotel grounds or simply enjoy the view from your room as the day turns to night.

 At night, just after the dinner you will be introduced to your Tour Marshall and briefed about your itinerary, routes, and challenges. Your Tour Marshall will explain about what to do and what not to do during the ride.  

Return to your rooms for a restful night, well-acclimatised and ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 3Manali to Jibhi

The morning sun casts a golden hue over the landscape as you set off towards Jibhi, a hidden gem tucked away in the Tirthan Valley. The journey, covering around 100 kilometres, takes you through winding roads that cut through dense forests and along the rushing Tirthan River. As you ascend towards the Jalori Pass, situated at 3,120 metres, the views become even more spectacular. The air is crisp and the scenery, with its panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, leaves you in awe.

Jibhi, when you finally arrive, feels like a secret haven. The village is quiet, with charming wooden houses scattered among the trees. After checking into your guesthouse, you take a leisurely walk to the Jibhi Waterfall. The sound of water cascading over rocks, surrounded by verdant greenery, creates a soothing soundtrack to your day. As the sun sets, you find yourself by the riverside, the gentle gurgling of the stream providing the perfect backdrop to an evening of peace and reflection.

Day 4Jibhi to Sarahan

Leaving Jibhi behind, you embark on a scenic drive towards Sarahan, a distance of about 110 kilometres. The journey is a visual feast, with terraced fields, quaint villages, and towering Himalayan peaks accompanying you along the way. As you approach Sarahan, known as the “Gateway to Kinnaur,” the landscape changes, offering sweeping views of the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak.

Sarahan is home to the Bhimakali Temple, an architectural marvel that stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. The temple, with its ornate wooden carvings and spiritual significance, exudes a tranquil aura. You spend the evening wandering around the village, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and marvelling at the panoramic vistas that stretch out before you.

Day 5Sarahan to Sangla

The road from Sarahan to Sangla is one of the most beautiful stretches of your journey. Covering 85 kilometres, you wind your way through the majestic Baspa Valley, where lush green landscapes and towering mountains frame your path. As you pass through the Kinnaur Gate, marking the entrance to this enchanting region, you feel a sense of anticipation.
Upon reaching Sangla, the beauty of the valley takes your breath away. The Baspa River flows gently through the valley, its waters reflecting the surrounding peaks. You visit Kamru Fort, an ancient stronghold perched on a hilltop, offering sweeping views of the valley below. As you explore the local markets, you get a glimpse into the traditional Kinnauri lifestyle, with its vibrant colours and rich culture. The day ends with a peaceful walk by the river, the tranquillity of the valley wrapping around you like a warm blanket.

Day 6Sangla to Nako

Today’s journey takes you to Nako, covering approximately 130 kilometres through some of the most rugged and awe-inspiring terrains. As you leave Sangla, you continue to follow the course of the Sutlej River, making your way towards the high-altitude regions of Kinnaur and Spiti.
The road is both challenging and rewarding, offering stunning views of the valleys and mountains as you ascend. Upon reaching Nako, situated at 3,662 metres, the small village feels like a peaceful retreat. The centrepiece of Nako is its serene lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The stillness of the water mirrors the sky, creating a picture-perfect scene. Nearby, the Nako Monastery adds a touch of spirituality to the village, with its ancient walls and peaceful ambiance.

Day 7Nako to Tabo

Leaving Nako behind, you make your way to Tabo, a journey of about 70 kilometres through the heart of the Himalayas. The landscape is stark and dramatic, with towering mountains and deep valleys creating a stunning backdrop for your drive.
Tabo, when you arrive, feels like a place frozen in time. Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest in the Himalayas, welcomes you with its ancient murals and statues. The monastery’s quiet, spiritual atmosphere is palpable, offering a deep connection to the region’s rich Buddhist heritage. As evening falls, you take a leisurely stroll through the village, the peace and stillness of Tabo enveloping you as you reflect on the day’s journey.

Day 8Tabo to Kaza

The journey from Tabo to Kaza is one of discovery, covering approximately 50 kilometres. You pass through Sumdo, where you make a stop at the fascinating Gue Monastery. Here, you encounter the well-preserved 500-year-old mummy of a monk, a testament to the deep spiritual history of the region. The road then leads you through the stark and beautiful landscapes of Spiti Valley, where every turn offers a new perspective on the raw beauty of the Himalayas.
Kaza, the bustling administrative centre of Spiti Valley, welcomes you with its unique blend of traditional and modern life. You visit the Sakya Tangyud Monastery, where the tranquil atmosphere invites quiet reflection. As you explore the town, the high altitude and expansive views remind you of the remoteness of this incredible region. The day ends with a quiet evening, taking in the cool mountain air and the serene surroundings of Kaza.

Day 9Kaza – Local Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the hidden gems around Kaza. Your first stop is the Ki Monastery, perched on a hill at 4,166 metres. The monastery, with its ancient architecture and panoramic views of the Spiti Valley, is a place of profound spirituality. From here, you journey to Kibber, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world at 4,270 metres. The village offers stunning vistas, with the rugged terrain stretching as far as the eye can see. 

Next, you visit Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office at 4,440 metres. Sending a postcard from this unique location is a moment you’ll cherish forever, knowing that your words will travel from the roof of the world. Also a visit to Komic village once the highest village on the earth , Your final stop is Langza Village, where the giant Buddha statue gazes out over the valley, a silent guardian of the region. As the day draws to a close, you return to Kaza, your heart full of the sights and experiences of this extraordinary day.

Day 10Kaza to Jispa

After an early breakfast, you embark on one of the most adventurous legs of your journey, heading towards Jispa. The route takes you over the Kunzum La Pass at 4,551 metres, a high-altitude pass that offers stunning panoramic views of the Spiti Valley and surrounding peaks. The challenging terrain adds to the thrill of the ride, making it an unforgettable experience. After crossing Kunzum La, you descend into the Lahaul Valley, where the landscape transforms into a more rugged, barren terrain dotted with sparse vegetation.

Next, you approach the Chandra River, following its course towards the base of the Bara-lacha La Pass. As you ride through the valley, the stark beauty of the high-altitude desert is captivating. The route continues to Sissu, a picturesque village known for its beautiful waterfalls, before reaching your final destination of the day, Jispa.

Jispa, located at 3,200 metres along the banks of the Bhaga River, is a serene village offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. After checking into your hotel or guesthouse, you can unwind and reflect on the day’s journey. The cool evening air and tranquil environment make Jispa the perfect spot to rest before the next day’s adventure.

Day 11Jispa to Leh

Today’s journey from Jispa to Leh is one of the most adventurous and scenic parts of your trip. You’ll begin by crossing the Baralacha La Pass (4,890 metres), known for its stark, rugged beauty and often snow-covered terrain, even in summer. After Baralacha La, you’ll pass through the expansive Sarchu Plains, a high-altitude plateau that marks the boundary between Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. From Sarchu, the road takes you through another series of thrilling 21 hairpin bends known as the Gata Loops, this time climbing from 4,200 metres to over 4,600 metres. The ascent is challenging, but the views and the sheer excitement of riding through this stretch make it unforgettable.

From there, you’ll climb the NakeeLa Pass (4,739 metres) and Lachulung La Pass (5,065 metres), both of which offer breathtaking views of the barren, otherworldly landscapes of the Trans-Himalayas.

Next, you’ll cross the More Plains, a vast stretch of flat, open land surrounded by towering peaks. The final challenge of the day is the ascent to Tanglang La Pass (5,328 metres), the second-highest motorable pass in the world. The thin air and high altitude make this a demanding but rewarding ride.

After descending from Tanglang La, you’ll enter the Indus Valley and continue on to Leh. Arriving in the evening, you’ll be greeted by the serene atmosphere of Ladakh’s largest town. Settle into your hotel and rest after this long and unforgettable journey.

Day 12Local Exploration in Leh

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast and prepare for a day of local exploration and acclimatisation. Today, you will be taken to a wellness resort for an Ayurvedic massage to help your body relax and rejuvenate after completing half of your journey, preparing you for the exciting remainder of the trip. In the late afternoon, you’ll have the chance to explore Thiksey Monastery, one of the largest and most impressive monasteries in Ladakh. Located about 19 kilometres from Leh, this stunning complex is often compared to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Wander through the various levels of the monastery, admiring the intricate murals and the impressive statue of Maitreya Buddha.

You will return to your hotel in the evening and have time to stroll through the Leh Market. Browse through local handicrafts, pashmina shawls, and traditional jewellery. Engage with the friendly locals and perhaps pick up a souvenir or two.

After dinner, you will be briefed about your itinerary, routes, and challenges for the upcoming ride. Your Tour Marshall will explain what to do and what not to do during the adventure.

Return to your rooms for a restful night, well-acclimatised and ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 13Leh to Nubra Valley

The adventure begins as you mount your motorbike and head towards Nubra Valley. The ride takes you over Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes at 5,359 metres. As you ascend, the scenery transforms, and the thrill of riding through such heights is unmatched. At the top, the panoramic views are breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for a photo session. Descending into Nubra Valley, the landscape changes dramatically from rugged mountains to green oasis. Arriving in Diskit, you can visit the impressive Diskit Monastery, home to a towering Maitreya Buddha statue. Later, a ride to Hunder offers a unique experience of sand dunes and Bactrian camel rides, contrasting sharply with the high-altitude desert around you.

Overnight stay in Hunder or Diskit (3,048 metres). You will stay at a comfortable guesthouse, allowing you to rest and soak in the serene beauty of the valley.

Day 14Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

The journey continues from Nubra Valley to the famous Pangong Lake. The route through Shyok Valley is less travelled but incredibly scenic, with the Shyok River accompanying you most of the way. The path can be challenging, with rough patches and river crossings, but the reward is Pangong Lake’s stunning blue waters. As you arrive, the vast expanse of the lake, changing its hues under the sunlight, is mesmerising. Spend the afternoon walking along the lake shore, taking in the tranquil beauty. As the sun sets, the colours of the lake become even more vibrant, creating a perfect backdrop for your campsite.

Overnight stay near Pangong Lake (4,225 metres). You will stay in a campsite or guesthouse, where the starry night sky over the lake offers a serene and magical experience.

Distance: Approximately 275 km (via Shyok Valley).

Travel Time: 7-8 hours.

Day 15Pangong Lake to Hanle

Departing Pangong Lake, you ride along its breathtaking shore towards Chushul, then onwards to the remote village of Hanle. This route takes you over Tsaga La pass at 4,663 metres. The landscape is rugged and wild, offering an adventurous ride through one of the most remote regions of Ladakh. Hanle is known for its Indian Astronomical Observatory, one of the highest observatories in the world. Visiting the observatory provides a fascinating insight into astronomical research at high altitudes. The village itself is serene, with the Hanle Monastery adding to its charm. Interacting with the local villagers and monks provides a glimpse into life in these remote highlands.

Overnight stay in Hanle (4,275 metres). You will stay in a homestay, offering a chance to experience the local Ladakhi hospitality and lifestyle.

Day 16Hanle to Umling La and back to Hanle

Today’s ride takes you to Umling La, the world’s highest motorable road at 5,883 metres higher than Everest base camp. Today, you will be riding on some of the roads which are even higher than the Everest base camp and this journey is a test of endurance and skill, with the extreme altitude presenting a significant challenge. As you ascend, the air becomes thinner and the landscape more stark and awe-inspiring. Reaching Umling La, the sense of achievement is immense, and the views from this height are truly spectacular. After spending some time at the top, taking photos and enjoying the incredible panorama, you will return to Hanle.

Distance: Approximately 85 km one way (170 km round trip).

Travel Time: 4-5 hours one way.

Route: Hanle – Umling La – Hanle.

Day 17Hanle to Tsomoriri Lake-Karzok

Leaving Hanle, you ride towards Tsomoriri Lake via Nyoma and Mahe. The route offers a mix of rugged terrains and stunning landscapes, leading to the tranquil shores of Tsomoriri, situated at 4,522 metres. The lake’s pristine blue waters set against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks create a breathtaking scene. Korzok Monastery, located on the western bank, adds a spiritual touch to the setting. Exploring the lake’s surroundings and interacting with the monks provides a serene and enriching experience.

Overnight stay in Karzok near Tsomoriri Lake (4,522 metres). Staying near  the lake, you will experience the peace and solitude of this remote high-altitude haven.

Distance: Approximately 160 km.

Travel Time: 6-7 hours.

Route: Hanle – Nyoma – Mahe – Tsomoriri Lake (Korzok Village).

Day 18Tso Moriri to Leh

Your adventure continues as you depart from the tranquil beauty of Tsomoriri Lake and head back to Leh. The journey will take you through varied landscapes, including high-altitude plateaus and rugged mountain terrain. Enjoy the scenic beauty as you retrace your path through Nyoma and Mahe before making your way back to Leh.

Consider visiting places you may have missed on your first day, or simply enjoy a relaxing meal at a local restaurant, reflecting on your memorable adventure through Ladakh.

Important Notes

The client must possess a valid motorbike driving licence to drive a motorbike with an engine of 500 cc or above. For UK clients, an A or A2 category Driving Licence is required. The duration for which  you have held the licence is not a criterion.

Before they depart from their countries, they are advised to obtain an International Driving licence permit

The Client is advised to bring his/her own riding gear like boots, jackets, knee guards, elbow guards, etc(can be rented at  the site with an extra cost except boots).

Please get a medical certificate authorised by a doctor if the client has any past medical condition which may affect  riding motorbikes especially in high altitude conditions.

Travel insurance recommended.

This is an adventure tour; do not expect luxury accommodations or facilities, but rather nice and clean conditions.

Most tours are in the Himalayan region, so be prepared for the unexpected as this is a key part of the adventure experience.

Special Terms and Conditions

The sequence of the day-wise itinerary, accommodation, and tour program may change due to traffic schedules/restrictions on some roads or unforeseen events such as landslides, natural calamities, etc.

We reserve the right to change your accommodation in the event of unforeseen circumstances. A similar standard of accommodation will be provided.

Any unprecedented hikes in the cost of transport (including fuel surcharges), accommodation, or related expenses will affect the overall cost. You will be required to pay the additional amount during the tour.

We shall not be responsible for any changes in the itinerary due to landslides, flight cancellations, weather conditions, or other unforeseen events. Any additional costs incurred will be in addition to the package price and will need to be paid during the tour.

Only backpacks are allowed, with a maximum luggage weight of 15-20 kg per person. Extra luggage will incur additional charges.

If the majority of fellow passengers in the group become sick, we will shift you to a vehicle and no marshal will be provided on the motorbike. If you choose to continue the tour on a motorbike, any extra costs will be your responsibility.

In the event of state union issues or clashes, we may need to shift  you to a vehicle instead of a bike. No marshal will be provided on the motorbike.

Any damage to the bike during the tour caused by any rider or a pillion must be paid for on the spot by the client.

If you choose to abort or discontinue the tour or change your route, any extra costs will be your responsibility and must be paid on the spot.

All the riders and Pillion must wear helmets and other gears for the safety during the motorbike ride. Any accidents or damages are the client’s own responsibility, we are not responsible for any damage or losses.

This tour is not for beginners, you must have a few years of riding experience.
