Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Colombo

Touching down at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo, you’ll be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel near the airport. After a long flight, you’ll have the chance to relax and recharge before your exciting motorbike adventure begins. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the lively town of Negombo, famous for its bustling fish market and Dutch-era canals, or simply relax by the beach and get into island mode. Your bike will be prepped and ready for the journey, and there will be a briefing to discuss the route and safety measures.

Day 2Ride from Negombo to Hunnasgiriya

With engines roaring and spirits high, your motorbike adventure officially kicks off after breakfast. You’ll ride through lush countryside, passing through Giriulla and Narammala, where narrow village roads take you past coconut plantations and vibrant local markets.

As you approach Kurunegala, the towering Elephant Rock dominates the skyline, a reminder of the region’s ancient heritage. You’ll then navigate winding roads through Katugasthota and Teldeniya, gradually climbing into the misty hills of central Sri Lanka.

The ride culminates at Hunnasgiriya, a peaceful hamlet nestled in the Knuckles Mountain Range, where the cool mountain breeze and the serene ambiance set the perfect tone for a relaxing evening after a thrilling day on the road.

Day 3Day 3: Hunnasgiriya to Mahiyanganaya – Exploring the Dambana Tribal Village

Gear up for another thrilling day as you descend from the mountains and make your way toward Mahiyanganaya. The route takes you through Hasalaka, where you’ll ride past scenic paddy fields and quaint villages.

The highlight of the day is a visit to the Dambana Tribal Village, home to the indigenous Vedda community. You’ll spend 2-3 hours interacting with the Veddas, learning about their ancient hunting techniques, traditional lifestyles, and unique customs that have been preserved for generations.

After this immersive cultural experience, you’ll ride back to Mahiyanganaya, where the calm surroundings and gentle evening breeze offer a peaceful end to an eventful day.

Day 4Mahiyanganaya to Habarana – Ancient Marvels of Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, you’ll embark on an exciting ride toward Habarana, passing through Dehiattakandiya and Manampitiya, where you’ll experience the changing landscapes of rural Sri Lanka.

A key highlight of the day is the visit to Polonnaruwa Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where history comes alive. Spend about 3 hours exploring the ruins of ancient palaces, intricately carved temples, and iconic structures such as:

  • The serene Gal Vihara Buddha statues.

  • The circular Vatadage relic house.

  • The vast Parakrama Samudra reservoir, an engineering marvel from ancient times.

Once you’ve soaked in the ancient grandeur, you’ll continue riding toward Habarana, a peaceful town surrounded by greenery and lakes.

Day 5Explore Sigiriya, Pidurangala & Elephant Safari

Today is all about exploration and adventure! In the morning, ride to the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks. Climbing Sigiriya is optional, but highly recommended for those eager to witness panoramic views from the summit. The climb takes about 2 hours, allowing you to explore the fascinating frescoes, the ancient mirror wall, and the ruins of King Kashyapa’s palace.

Alternatively, for those seeking a less strenuous adventure, a hike to Pidurangala Rock offers equally breathtaking views and a different perspective of Sigiriya.

In the afternoon, gear up for an exhilarating elephant safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. The 3-hour safari takes you deep into the wilderness where you’ll encounter herds of elephants, water buffalo, deer, and exotic bird species in their natural habitat.

After a thrilling day, return to Habarana for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6Habarana to Pasikuda – Coastal Vibes via Trincomalee

Get ready for a scenic ride toward the eastern coastline! You’ll cruise through Kanthale and Serunuwara, where the open roads and picturesque landscapes make the ride pure bliss.

A stop at Trincomalee allows you to explore the famed Koneswaram Hindu Temple, perched high on Swami Rock overlooking the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. You’ll also visit Sri Lanka’s largest natural harbor, which has played a significant role in the island’s maritime history.

From here, you’ll continue your ride along the coast, eventually reaching Pasikuda, known for its pristine beaches and shallow, calm waters perfect for a refreshing dip after a long ride.

Day 7Pasikuda to Panama

The ride continues along the eastern coast as you head south toward Panama, a serene village surrounded by lagoons and forests. En route, you’ll pass through Batticaloa, where vibrant culture and stunning lagoons add color to the journey.

By late afternoon, you’ll reach Panama and take a short ride to visit a hidden Hindu temple, tucked away in the forest near the beach. The spiritual aura and natural beauty of the site create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a quiet moment of reflection.

Day 8Panama to Nuwara Eliya

Today’s ride is a thrilling ascent from the coastal lowlands to the misty highlands. You’ll pass through Siyambalanduwa, Monaragala, and Wellawaya, witnessing the diverse landscapes change dramatically as you gain altitude.

The highlight of the journey is the ride through Ella Valley, where winding mountain roads offer breathtaking views of rolling hills and tea plantations. A stop at Ravana Falls provides an opportunity to admire the cascading waterfall and stretch your legs.

Continuing through Bandarawela and Welimada, you’ll arrive at Nuwara Eliya, affectionately known as “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate. Spend the evening strolling through the charming town or enjoying the cool mountain air.

Day 9Nuwara Eliya to Negombo

As the journey nears its end, today’s ride takes you down through the scenic hill country back toward the west coast. You’ll cruise through Hatton and Kithulgala, where tea plantations, misty hills, and gushing waterfalls provide a picturesque backdrop.

A stop at Kithulgala offers the chance to admire the spot where the famous movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. Continuing the journey, you’ll pass through Ruwanwella, Urapola, and Nittambuwa, enjoying the cool breeze as you descend toward the plains.

Arriving in Negombo, you can reflect on the incredible journey while relaxing by the beach or exploring the lively town one last time before departure.

Day 10Final Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Sri Lanka as your unforgettable motorbike adventure comes to an end. You’ll be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in time for your departure flight. Important Notes
  • The client must possess a valid motorbike driving licence to drive a motorbike with an engine of 500 cc or above. For UK clients, an A or A2 category Driving Licence is required. The duration for which  you have held the licence is not a criterion.
  • Before they depart from their countries, they are advised to obtain an International Driving licence permit
  • The Client is advised to bring his/her own riding gear like boots, jackets, knee guards, elbow guards, etc(can be rented at  the site with an extra cost except boots).
  • Please get a medical certificate authorised by a doctor if the client has any past medical condition which may affect  riding motorbikes especially in high altitude conditions.
  • Travel insurance recommended.
  • This is an adventure tour; do not expect luxury accommodations or facilities, but rather nice and clean conditions.
  • Most tours are in the Himalayan region, so be prepared for the unexpected as this is a key part of the adventure experience.
Special Terms and Conditions

The sequence of the day-wise itinerary, accommodation, and tour program may change due to traffic schedules/restrictions on some roads or unforeseen events such as landslides, natural calamities, etc.

We reserve the right to change your accommodation in the event of unforeseen circumstances. A similar standard of accommodation will be provided.

Any unprecedented hikes in the cost of transport (including fuel surcharges), accommodation, or related expenses will affect the overall cost. You will be required to pay the additional amount during the tour.

We shall not be responsible for any changes in the itinerary due to landslides, flight cancellations, weather conditions, or other unforeseen events. Any additional costs incurred will be in addition to the package price and will need to be paid during the tour.

Travellers are advised to carry backpacks with a maximum luggage weight of 15-20 kg per person. Extra luggage might incur additional charges.

If the majority of fellow passengers in the group become sick, we will shift you to a vehicle and no marshal will be provided on the motorbike. If you choose to continue the tour on a motorbike, any extra costs will be your responsibility.

In the event of state union issues or clashes, we may need to shift  you to a vehicle instead of a bike. No marshal will be provided on the motorbike.

Any damage to the bike during the tour caused by any rider or a pillion must be paid for on the spot by the client.

If you choose to abort or discontinue the tour or change your route, any extra costs will be your responsibility and must be paid on the spot.

All the riders and Pillion must wear helmets and other gears for the safety during the motorbike ride. Any accidents or damages are the client’s own responsibility, we are not responsible for any damage or losses.

This tour is not for beginners, you must have a few years of riding experience.
